Ras Kutani is barefoot luxury at it’s best, and is set in a completely deserted area, surrounded by mangroves and of course the Indian Ocean directly in front of you. Ras Kutani is flanked by a fresh water lagoon, making the lodge feel as though it is on an island. Relaxation is the key here, although once can snorkel, kayak and do various other things. Colourful fish, dolphins, whales and turtles are frequent visitors to this piece of coastline. The tropical forest behind the lodge boasts some 132 species of trees as well as four species of monkeys. Turtles also nest on the shore of Ras Kutani at certain times of the year, and there is the opportunity to become involved with turtle conservation projects.
