The luxury safari industry started their own special offer culture back when the recession first hit, and since then many of the top camps and lodges have kept putting out enticing special offers year on year – this often will have you drawn to one camp over another, but always remember the best luxury safari for you might not be the one which costs the least (or the most!) – having said that here are some of our most favourite luxury safari special offers throughout Kenya and Tanzania, most of which are valid for all of 2015:

Please note there are always last minute specials, and specials which are valid for one month or so, here we have tried to draw attention to the specials which are valid all year. It is also worth noting that we take our commission from the camps and lodges, not from you – booking with a tour operator is always more economic than booking direct with the camp – give it a try.

1            Sand Rivers Selous – Southern Tanzania – Stay Four Pay Three

Sand Rivers Selous is one of the most magical camps in all of Africa – it’s remote and wild position with views of rivers and mountains, and it’s informal and friendly atmosphere make a stay here completely wonderful. Their stay four pay three, and 50% honeymoon offer make this luxury safari lodge even more appealing.

2            Greystoke Mahale & Chada Katavi – Western Tanzania – Stay Seven Pay Six

This wonderful itinerary takes you into the depths of Western Tanzania and you will certainly be amazed by what you find there. Staying at the wonderfully wild Chada Katavi you will see huge herds of buffalo, and vast herds of elephant, as well as predators around every corner – a luxury safari in Katavi is Africa 50 years ago. You will then find tropical rain forest and chimpanzees on the shores of Lake Tanganyika in the Mahale Mountains.

3            &Beyond Tanzania – Discounted Rates for Long Stays

Throughout the year this famous luxury safari company offer vastly discounted rates if you combine their luxury properties. Their properties certainly appeal to a particular person as they are quite chic, elegant and smart – the atmosphere is pure luxury and one will be completely spoilt. They have Lake Manyara Tree Lodge, a luxury lodge made up of treehouses in a remote section of Lake Manyara National Park, as well as Ngorongoro Crater Lodge – a world famous offering with dramatic views of the Crater Rim, and three luxury camps in the Serengeti including a mobile camp which follows the migration, so the choice is pretty good when it comes to combining their properties.

4            Serengeti Safari Camp – Serengeti – Stay Four Pay Three

This offer is only valid outside of Jul-Oct but we feel it is worth mentioning anyway – this luxury safari camp moves to be in the best location for game viewing all year, this means there is no right or wrong time to visit this wonderfully quirky camp. Here the emphasis is on game viewing and wildlife, and the tents are beautifully appointed in remote sections of the Serengeti. Here the team will make you feel exceptionally welcome.

5            Lamai Nomad – Northern Serengeti – Stay Four Pay Three

Once again this amazing offer at this extremely luxurious safari lodge is only valid outside of Jul-Oct but again is worth mentioning because the game in this area of the Northern Serengeti is always excellent, this means that when you are here to take advantage of this offer you are more likely to see amazing game and no people. This area is incredibly beautiful and will certainly not disappoint. Lamai itself is stylishly decorated and homely, and you will feel as if you have your own little part of Africa as you sip your tea on your private verandah, admiring the views which stretch all the way to Kenya’s Masai Mara.

6            Elephant Pepper Camp / Elsa’s Kopje / Joy’s Camp / Cottar’s Camp / Lewa Safari Camp – Stay Six Pay Four

This special is valid until the 30th June and we cannot recommend strongly enough that you utilise it. These are some of the best camps in Kenya and offer the chance to get well and truly off the beaten track whilst still staying in the most luxurious camps one can imagine. Every safari camp mentioned has it’s own little quirk and something special about it. Kenya is a year round destination, if you don’t mind afternoon rainstorms even April and May are good months, since there are no people.

7            Offbeat Mara / Offbeat Meru / Sosian – Free Nights

If you do a combination of the above luxury safari camps you will receive at least one free night, depending on the season you travel. These camps are simple but incredibly comfortable and are by far the best value for money in Kenya – they are all small and located in some of the most amazing locations in all of Africa. Sosian is particularly special as it has it’s own vast private ranch which you can explore on horses, on foot, by night or literally anyway you like – you can fly camp, track wild dog and gallop through the bush on well schooled horses. Offbeat Meru is also in a beautiful spot on a small stream, which often attracts elephant and other game species. Offbeat Mara often has wildlife in camp and it’s location on the river in the Masai Mara is second to none.

8            Encounter Mara & Dream of Africa – Discounted Rates

This amazing itinerary is for those looking for something special but without having to remortgage the house – it is just £1,765 (pre June) and £2,241 (Jul-Oct) per person for 5 nights on an all inclusive safari at this luxury camp in the Masai Mara, followed by seven nights at Dreams of Zanzibar. This is the most amazing value and Encounter Mara offers a wonderful safari experience – based in the private Naiboisho Conservancy you can enjoy the freedom to walk, take night drives and enjoy not seeing another vehicle – of course the white sands of Zanzibar then offer the best place to unwind.

9            Saruni Samburu & Saruni Mara – Stay Six Pay Five

These two incredible properties will blow your mind, and to get a free night here is amazing. Saruni Samburu is one of Kenya’s most luxurious, exclusive and unique properties – the views of the private Kalama Conservancy from the lodge are breathtaking and you will not know what’s hit you, combine this with hopelessly stylish villas, and amazing food, guides and service and you have one of Africa’s top safari lodges. You then follow this with a luxury stay at Saruni Mara which has some of the best guides in Africa – here you will explore the Mara enjoying amazing big cat viewing.

10            White Sands Villas & Kilindi – Zanzibar – Both Properties: Stay Seven Pay Five + 10% Off

These two properties will not thank us for putting them together as they are ultimately competitors, but they both have these fantastic offers which make them the ideal stop off after your luxury safari. White Sands Villas is in the far South, and Kilindi in the North – both offer exquisite private villas with amazing food, beaches and a warm atmosphere – just heaven.
