When booking your tailor-made Kenya safari we will always be completely objective depending on what you want – we make it our job to know every single Kenya safari camp and lodge there is, and know them personally and well. We are not tied to any particular camps and know all of our Kenyan safari camps intimately, so are always able to match you to the perfect tailor made safari. Tailor made Kenya safaris remain popular with all of our clients, many of whom return over and over again – we have access to the best rooms, best camps and the best guides in Africa, Kenya is wild and pristine and this attracts some of the most experienced and charismatic people in the safari industry. All of our safaris are tailor made because we know that all our clients are different, and we value your individuality. We’re also completely obsessed by Africa and our passion shines through.
Tailormade Kenya safaris can come in many shapes and forms and we organise all of them – we have insider knowledge on all luxury safari travel in Kenya that means no matter where you’d like to go your safari is always luxurious, exclusive and unique. We organise surprises and treats along the way and always make sure you are allocated the best rooms and best guides. We know all of our Kenya safari offerings intimately so always recommend the best for you.
One of our favourite properties for luxury safaris in Kenya is Ol Donyo Lodge, which sits perched high above vast grass plains and rolling green hills, with fantastic views of Kilimanjaro. Ol Donyo is truly magical and offers a variety of safari options from day and night game drives, to bush walks, sleep outs and riding safaris. In fact one of our favourite things about Ol Donyo is that every room has a four-poster bed with mosquito net on its private roof terrace, so if you choose you can sleep out under the stars every night. These little extras are what make our tailormade Kenya safaris unique and special – a night spent out under the stars will never be forgotten.
We are always kept in the loop by our friends and colleagues on the ground in Kenya and recently received an update from Ol Donyo Lodge. Cooler weather has reached Ol Donyo this month which has actually allowed guests a lot more time to get out and about, often enjoying bush lunches and breakfasts, two things which are not so possible in the heat of summer. Walks can also be longer and guests really can explore more thoroughly. Elijah is the Ol Donyo children’s guide and he is fantastic with the younger groups, this month they have been doing everything from arrow making to baking eggs in mud (a traditional method of cooking) – they have been having the most wonderful time whilst honeymooners in camp have been treated to candlelit dinners and private bush meals. There really is something for everyone at this exceptional lodge and we can’t wait until we get to go back. Tailormade Kenya has never been so appealing as it is now, with fewer people and more specials than ever.
While tailormade Kenya safaris have suffered a little due to terrorism (although the terrorists are attacking far off areas) Botswana safaris have thrived and still offer one of the best tailormade African safari options there is. One of our favourite camps in Botswana is Zarafa (also run by Great Plains Conservation, who run Ol Donyo), this camp is small and intimate and one of the most glamorous and luxurious in Africa. Set in the vast Selinda Reserve here you can guarantee great game drives with abundant wildlife and no other tourists. We recently received an update from our friends at Zarafa about the game movements. We are always on top of game movements all over Africa and this helps us to make sure that your tailor made African safari always offers the best game viewing possible.
August is coming up at Zarafa when they see the annual flood from Kwando and the Okavango having quite an impact on the area bringing much game into the area surrounding the camp, in fact there is six miles worth of lagoon frontage, which can provide the most incredible sightings. Most of the kills seen during August have been in this area, as it is the main source of water. Pink backed pelicans will arrive in force and the elephants will also crowd into the area. Unusual sightings at Zarafa recently include a leopard who had killed an aardvark, the second the same leopard has killed this year. Lion activity has also been at its peak, guests where lucky enough to see lions taking down a giraffe – this lion pride has also earlier killed a buffalo and a zebra. This is to name but a few of the incredible wildlife sightings that take place at Zarafa every month – as you can see it’s well worth a visit, but we still believe nothing can compare to the vast wilderness of Kenya.
