Has anyone ever been to Tanda Tula? No? Then why not?! One of the very few luxury tented camps found within South Africa’s Timbavati region of the Kruger. Many properties you would be looking to stay at, down within these necks of the woods, are usually solid in structure, providing nervous guests with that extra security and need to feel safe within solid structured walls. However, for those thrill seeking few, who have the need to get as close to nature as they possibly can, Tanda Tula is the place for you. Arriving here you feel totally at home from the word go; the staff are brilliant, seriously helpful and requests are never an issue.

The rooms, or luxury tented suites are all situated along the banks of a dried river bed, or wildlife highway – as many animals use this open sandy space to meander to where they need to get to. Guests have front row seats from their private tented rooms for this. If you are looking for a tiny bit of security with regards to rooms, the bathrooms are solid in structure with flushing loos, a luxury bath and an outside shower so you can bath beneath a canopy of stars.

Tanda Tula also has a field camp, harking back to the days of old, when pith helmets were all the rage. This is perfect to comebine with Tanda Tula main camp as well. Stay with a group of friends for three to four nights in their field camp, along with bucket showers and camp fires at night, followed by three to four nights within Tanda Tula’s main camp – this is the ideal trip!

If you enjoyed your stay at Tanda Tula or have enjoyed living vicariously through us staying at Tanda Tula, you may be pleased to hear that Tanda Tula will be opening another sister camp to combine with their field camp and main camp – Tanda Tula Rishelé Camp will be opening its doors on May 1st2020.
