Closing dates of Benguerra Island for 2018 are; 25th February 2018 – 17th March 2018 for the refurbishment of the lodge kitchens and guest areas. Azura Benguerra is Mozambique’s first eco -friendly resort and was built by the local community using locally sourced building materials. All of the 20 beach villas have their own personal plunge pool and it’s a great place for a family getaway as well as a very romantic honeymoon destination. Paddle boarding, diving, snorkeling, dhow sailing cruises and even salt water fly fishing are some of the activities on offer. We look forward to seeing the finished result next year, and they have assured us that no bookings have been affected.
Concession fee increase by Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA) despite the industry’s efforts to postpone the implementation. The 1st of July of this year these fees have been implemented by TANAPA and put into place. These costs will be a per person per night fee.

LAM Mozambique airlines has been removed the European Union air safety list after meeting all requirements to operate between airports in the EU. Guests from overseas can now get flights from Nairobi twice a week, Dar Es Salaam three times a week, Johannesburg twice a week and also daily flights to Vilanculos.
