La Cle Des Montagnes is one of our favourite destinations in the winelands. It is incredibly private with only four villas of varying different sizes and styles each uniquely designed with quirky art work and furniture, being owner run and placed within a wonderfully rural part of the Franshoek valley, with excellent walking available to fabulous restaurants and shops.
La Cle Des Montagnes is possibly the friendliest and relaxed property within the winelands we have on our books, as mentioned before, it has its own unique style. Perfect for families or honeymoons, this small property has stunning views of the surrounding area and you can either choose to dine out in one of the Winelands delicious restaurants, just a small walk away, or dine in with your own personal private butler around a fire.
La Cle Des Montagnes have two fantastic and seriously highly trained chefs on the team that create cuisine which is superb, dynamic and fresh – from the locally styled braais nestled keeping warm close to the fire, to laden breakfast tables, personalised picnics, private dining and now introducing private dining and select Chef’s Table evenings at the lodge – these evenings take place every Monday, Wednesday and Fridays where guests can be totally involved with planning with these talented chefs as to what they would like and what they recommend and also what inspires them to create certain dishes. Special occasion dinners for major holidays, events, birthdays and anniversaries will – of course – be more elaborate BUT there is no corkage, so you can enjoy plenty of wine!
La Cle Des Montagnes itself is nestled within the picturesque vinewards and plum orchards where you can enjoy time savouring picnics in your private garden, a much deserved and refreshing dip in your own private pool or just enjoying the ample space and freedom to roam and relax that comes when you stay at one of the four private fully serviced villas.
The country Lodge at La Cle Des Montagnes has been designed with exquisite finishes by the one and only Jacques Erasmus of Hemelhujis where he has combined modern style with the traditional and classic charm of the Cape Dutch home. The interiors appear to flow seamlessly from one room to another using all the space it can with high ceilings and ample living areas totally enhancing the charming accents and rustic beauty of traditionally and locally sourced materials.
If the food, interiors or food at La Cle Des Montagnes are not enough, then take a short stroll to the tennis court and fuel your inner Nadal or perhaps head onto the golf course and imagine you are the next Rory Mcilroy putting, birdying and bogeying to your hearts content whilst taking in the surrounding views – no words can describe how beautiful this setting is.
Having stayed here you will go away (very reluctantly!) feeling well rested and most definitely well fed with memories of the stunning views etched into your mind – your own personal internal photographic album that only you can view.0
