Governers Camp – Mugi special offers 2023

Governors’ Mugie is the latest addition to the Governors’ Camp Collection, perched on a hill are eight stone cottages, each with sweeping views of the Laikipia landscape. A large main house with open log fires hosts guests for relaxing cocktails and scrumptious meals, prepared from a creative menu with ingredients sourced organically from the camps vegetable garden. An infinity pool offers lovely shade areas and casual alfresco dining area, while a waterhole set in Governors’ Mugie attracts a variety of wildlife that comes to drink.

Why not stay for three nights and pay for two, the offer is available for new bookings only, anytime between 6thJanuary- 30th June 2023.  There are 5 double cottages all ensuite with exquisite furnishings, fireplaces and luxurious baths.  Each cottage enjoys an expansive view over the landscape or over the colourful Mugie House garden. There is one suite, suitable for a couple, with its own private plunge pool and infinite views across Laikipia plains. For those travelling with a family there is a cottage with an ensuite double and twin room interconnected by a spacious lounge area with a wide veranda and private plunge pool.

Governors’ Mugie sleeps a total of 18 guests. All cottages are out around a hill in the heart of the conservancy, giving sweeping views over the Laikipia plains and to Mt Kenya. Room service is available on request. Tea and coffee’s are served in all the rooms with the morning wake up call. The camp is completely solar 24-hour powered and wi-fi is available in the main living room.

If you’re a keen golfer, guests can make the most of Mugie Conservancy’s nine-hole golf course, which is perfect for enjoying a round between travel companions or alongside other golf-loving guests. After a round of golf you can choose to relax in the spa or take a dip in the infinity pool with a cool cocktail whilst spotting wildlife drinking from the waterhole.

Governors’ Mugie is located in the northern end of Mugie Conservancy, a private wildlife conservancy in Laikipia of almost 50,000 acres hosting an array of impactful community and conservation programs. Visitors can enjoy all the perks of low -density tourism along with the region’s rare and endemic wildlife. Mugie’s vision is focused on the protection of the landscape and its wildlife; the upliftment, employment and education of local communities; the preservation of essential wildlife corridors; and the promotion of Kenya through tourism.

Bloodhounds serve as a vital purpose at Mugie as part of the anti-poaching efforts in the area and guests can meet the dogs, their handlers, and take part in mock training exercises to understand how these canines track and catch poachers.

Elsewhere on the conservancy, lazy afternoons spotting animals from the viewing platform await, as do spa treatments and visits from Mugie’s resident reticulated giraffe. Whilst free to come and go as she pleases you are likely to spot Tala wandering near the camp.
