Iconic Safari Game Viewing Adventures
Ruaha National Park is the second largest in southern Tanzania and features habitats and species from southern and east Africa. The park is also home to some of the best walking safaris in the world. Close to the Mwagusi River – the Jabali retreat puts visitors at the centre of the core game viewing area of the park.
This region is famous for its dense lion population as well as large herds of elephants, buffalo, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, antelope, giraffes, and 550 species of birds. The name of the park is derived from the Great Ruaha River which is essential for animals and communities who live amongst it. Photography enthusiasts can enjoy the specially designed photographic vehicle which features camera rests, 360° swivel seats, and bean bags that will ensure you get the best possible shot.
After enjoying a cocktail at sunset guides treat guests to a night game drive which provides an unforgettable up-close experience with nocturnal animals not visible during the day.
The best time to view wildlife at Ruaha National Park is between July and November as these are the dry and hot seasons that make it easier to spot animals.
Rhino Spotting in Tanzania
As one of Africa’s Big Five, rhinos are considered diamonds amongst wildlife for safari lovers. This critically endangered species population in Africa is only approximately 21,000. This makes the Rhino a highly sought-after animal for safari viewings, but sadly they are also tricky to find. Thankfully several conservation camps within Kenya and Tanzania are dedicated to creating a safe place for rhino populations to grow. Thanks to sustainable tourism there is also a greater opportunity for luxury safari lovers to spot these magnificent creatures. For more information on camps that have opportunities to spot rhinos please speak with a member of our team.
