The wonder of Whales
From July to October the Mozambique Channel becomes the ideal breeding nursing ground from humpback whales, witness these majestic mammals breaching and rolling on an exclusive Kisawa expedition.
Wonder of Whales includes two whale watching expeditions by Kisawa boat, including picnic lunch, per stay. One Marine Life Expedition by Kisawa boat, spotting dugongs, dolphins and journeying to Paradise, Magaruque or Bazarzuto Island.
Last year, upto 100 breaching pectoral fin and tail slapping mother and calves per day were observed as the thrived in the shallow, protected waters of the Bazaruto Archipelago. Experience this natural marvel up close from a boat, guided by knowledge of the marine science team at Kisawa’s sister Ocean Observatory.
In other news team favourite the Barracca introduces its new seasonal menu for beachside cocktails and barefoot living. The Barracca is a vibrant and colourful corner of the sanctuary, taking inspiration from the traditional Mozambican ‘Baracca’ where guests are welcomed directly from the beach to relax, play games, eat and celebrate.
June sees the introduction of the new season menu, encouraging guests to sample local flavours and Mozambican dishes, alongside a contemporary cocktail list.
Set admid a national marine park in the beautiful and pristine Bazaruto Archipelago, Kisawa has access to some of the most unique experiences in the world. Kisawa offers different levels of PADI certified private and group diving experiences that range from bare skin snorkelling with turtles and reef fish to deep sea diving with black, blue and striped marlin, sail fish, yellowfin tuna, bull and tiger sharks and mantra rays.
Experience diving expeditions in cave systems, seamounts, pinnacles or simply explore the open ocean reef, enjoying the plentiful sea.
Kisawa is a combination of 11 bungalow residences positioned within a 300 hectare stretch of forest, beach and sand dunes. Each residence has its own private beach, an open-air deck, an infinity pool, an outdoor day area and kitchen. With an abundance of personal space, plus a program of family friendly activities including open ocean safaris and kids’ pizza making classes.
The Natural Wellness Centre is focused on achieving wellbeing through unity of mind, body and spirit. All treatments are available in the Natural Wellness Centre or the privacy of your own residence. Experience individual rituals rooted in the natural elements of Air, Fire, Water, Space and Earth. A state-of-the-art Japanese lyashi dome sauna uses gentle yet powerful infrared technology to promote healing and rejuvenation.
Guests can also keep fit at the fully equipped and air-conditioned gym, located adjacent to the Natural Wellness Centre. There is a dedicated yoga and Pilates dome within the Kisawa gym. The main swimming pool is organic in shape and laps against the surrounding dunes. The 25-meter pool is closely connected to the Natural Wellness Centre ensuring guests can either swim lengths or relax after a day of activities.
Pick up your scuba equipment, snorkels, bodyboards and paddle boards. Guides and instructors are there to support any requests- talk tides, plan adventures or simply catch up.
