Here we hope to outline why the Luangwa Safari House is one of Zambia’s and Africa’s top private houses. There are many across Africa and they can be fantastic for large groups or families travelling together. It can often be more economical for a family to stay in a luxury safari house, as once you have split it between three or four people prices become exceptionally low – you also have the added benefit of having your own fully staffed, privately guided home in the African bush – what more could one want. Here are some little tips on why the Luangwa Safari House is so special:
Location
The Luangwa Safari House is located in a remote and wild part of the South Luangwa – there is the most wonderful waterhole directly in front of the house which often attracts large herds of elephant – what a heavenly way to spend an afternoon hey?! This house is located just a short game drive from the Luangwa River, and from there you can cross into the park into an area which has few people but abundant game viewing.
The People
Luangwa Safari House is owned and run by Robin Pope Safaris, one of the best safari operators in all of Africa. They are amazing at hiring staff and you will not meet a member of their team that isn’t fun, enthusiastic and knowledgeable – a safari is after all a holiday and one of Robin Pope’s many thoughts on the whole thing (which we agree with) is that it has to be fun. You will be looked after by some of the nicest and most charming Zambians there are and will come away with some firm new friends.
The House
Luangwa Safari House is beautifully decorated in a modern and stylish way, that fits in completely with the surround bush. The décor is chic and quirky with taste, and you will feel immediately relaxed and at home. In fact you may want to transport some of the pieces of furniture back to your own home. The house is designed to be as comfortable as possible and you will certainly feel very relaxed from the first moment you arrive. Each bedroom has it’s own unique design and there will certainly be arguments over who gets which room. The top bedrooms have wonderful verandahs overlooking the bush.
The Guides
As mentioned briefly earlier Robin Pope Safaris are famous for the staff they have on their team – this extends to the guides and the guides at Luangwa Safari House are absolutely no exception. There is not one snippet of knowledge they are not able to divulge and they do it with such charm and laughter than you cannot help but be completely infected by their enthusiasm. Zambia’s guiding laws are much stricter than in other parts of Africa and their knowledge has to be quite unbelievable even to qualify, this however does not mean that they are the kinds of guides you want to go on safari with as a safari without humour can be very dull indeed – you can rest assured on a Robin Pope Safari that you will have both humour and knowledge, and an unforgettable time.
