Leobo Private Reserve is a completely private 20,000 acre estate based in the beautiful Waterberg mountains, 3 hours drive north of Johannesburg and home to the award winning ‘Observatory Bush Villa’ – probably the most stunning safari house in Africa not only from an architectural and style perspective but also as a fantastic home for families and small groups. Available as exclusive use only, the property and all activities are entirely at your disposal, there are no structured meal times, set activities or timetables, your time is yours to fill as you please, doing what you want when you want. Just ask!
The estate is fully staffed by friendly, obliging staff who plan your day as your whims dictate. Dining is a highlight, with a top chef organising classic surprise bush breakfasts and traditional braai’s with excellent locally sourced beef, accompanied by top South African and international wines.
The Leobo Private Reserve is fantastically well equipped for fun – there are quad bikes, dirt buggies, horses, mountain bikes, motor bikes, helicopters, clay shooting, fishing and more, all to use at your leisure, with no rules or time constraints. Children are very welcome with activities for the younger traveller and babysitting available if needed.
Leobo Private Reserve has two very different accommodation options within a five minute drive of each other. The state-of-the-art Observatory is a four bedroom private house with two main bedrooms, each with their own bath and shower. There is a separate nursery room for children with a triple bunk bed and a bedroom for a nanny or extra guests. The Leobo Lodge provides extra accommodation for larger groups. Perhaps though the crowning glory is the domed roofed split level library which, when open, is the perfect spot to explore the vast expanse of night sky using the property’s own 20″ telescope, space suits are on hand for that truly immersive experience! The Lodge can sleep up to 18 guests in eight private cottages overlooking the Palala Valley. All of the cottages are en-suite and have their own private deck with spectacular views. Rooms can accommodate children on request.
Here at The Luxury Safari Company we are able to share two fabulous offers for Leobo for those who book for the period 25th November – 1st December or 5th January – 2 February 2017, guests can choose from 2 complimentary nights under the Pay 5, stay 7 offer or alternatively book a 7 night stay and get 1 hour helicopter flying per day FREE!
