Gibb’s Farm:
This award winning safari hotel is deeply set in African culture, rustic and luxurious the house is surrounded by gardens and boasts breathtaking scenery. The unique property was one of the first guest houses in Tanzania and give guests a sense of taking a step back in time with beautiful architecture and quaint gardens.
The original farmhouse was built in 1929 and has been an organic farm for the past 27 years, carefully cultivated produce is served to guests and adds a special touch to ones stay. The farm is made up of 17 cottages and the main areas, the cottages are decorated to leave guests with that home away from home feeling and is so great for a getaway or romantic escape.
The original farmhouse offers guests a relaxing haven after the day’s excursions, the boutique offers some retail therapy whilst the roaring fires are inviting for those who want to curl up with a book and a cup of something hot.
A range of activities depending on how relaxing you want your getaway to be are on offer, Spa treatment, farm walks, safari excursions, farm life experiences, cultural trips and weddings and honeymoons. The cuisine is organic and grown just out back and the meat is locally raised, leaving you with a real farm experience. The farm is very eco conscious all waste is reused and the farm also practice water ecology and it is really impressive how much they try to be completely self -sufficient.
Children 6 and under stay free also making it a great family escape and ages 7-16 only pay 45usd!!! Kids can be involved in exciting farm activities like gardening, milking cows and baking to name a few. If you don’t want to book and stay why not pass by for lunch? Try some of that delicious organic food and enjoy a tour round the gardens or farm.
