Whats happening at Tswalu? Well, we will tell you! Tswalu camp located in the stunning Kalahari region of South Africa is one of the largest private game reserves which now protects well over 110,000 hectares of spectacular mountain ranges and rolling grasslands. At Tswalu, like most of the camps we promote, take conservation as their main priority. Their overall vision at Tswalu is ‘to restore the Kalahari to itself’. With no more than thirty guests at a time, you can be sure you will be able to discover the beauty of this arid savannah with its phenomenal and diverse wildlife on your doorstep as well as the serenity of what may well be South Africa’s last great wilderness. With the aim of redefining the way in which wilderness conservation and research work hand in hand alongside the guest’s overall experience and the engagement of the community, Tswalu can create a truly inspirational legacy which secures this special place for future generations to come.
Being located in a malaria free environment, Tswalu has an array of possible activities which are solely designed around what the guests would like to experience. The wildlife within the Kalahari range from wild dog, cheetah, the famous black maned lions. You can also track the endangered desert black rhino – plus, it will be a crime if you were to miss out on the meerkats!
The accommodation at Tswalu can accommodate up to 30 guests at one time. There are two wonderfully luxurious properties striving to create an atmosphere of the ultimate barefoot luxury within the desert – the Motse ‘an island of calm’ translates as ‘village’ in the local Tswana dialect. The Motse consists of nine secluded and beautifully designed suites that adopt the surrounding desert feeling surrounding you, along with your own private decking and open fireplace. The other is the Tarkuni ‘a world apart’ which nestles snuggly within two mountain ranges, Tarkuni creates the ultimate sanctuary. This wonderfully stylish homestead enjoys its own dedicated team, including a private chef and host, to ensure a completely hand-made experience.
There is now a fantastic offer available at Tswalu, where you can stay for three nights and only pay for two nights (park and conservations fees on top of this free night) which is available from the 1stNovember to 16thDecember 2018. And included within your stay is the following: luxury full board accommodation, private guide, private vehicle and private tracker. Walking safaris where you can get up close and personal with the surrounding flora and fauna, horse safaris where you can gallop through the desert, kicking up the dust and tracking down wildlife with the clip clop of horse’s feet instead of the hum of a vehicle – just think of all the different sights and sounds you will pick up because of this! All beverages and a full selection from Tswalu’s award winning wine list. In-suite luxury private bar and gourmet pantry. Laundry and valet service, wireless internet, children’s junior ranger programme plus babysitting.
