We have just heard wonderful news that Chem Chem are expanding – not too big though, it is still going to be a very personal and small expansion but a brilliant one none the less. They are just adding to their family of camps on the privately owned 16,000ha concession bordering the Tarangire National Park. With Chem Chem and Little Chem Chem, this season they are now introducing us to Forest Chem Chem… and we are very excited!
What is the difference then I hear you ask? Well, Forest Chem Chem is their most intimate and private bush camp to date and consists of 2 vintage luxury tents and one family suite. Forest Chem Chem will sleep a maximum of 6 people – it is going to be perfect for those looking for pure space and seclusion with your nearest and dearest, sharing memories privately round the warmth of a fire, gin and tonic or rosé in hand. The tents are large in size and have the option for king size beds, twin beds and the double sized family tent has both king and twin bedrooms. Each luxury vintage tent has flushing loos, showers, running water and all the basic and necessary amenities you could wish for whilst staying away in the African bush.
For families looking to provide their children with the most unbelievable experience, Forest Chem Chem would be ideal. The camp takes children from the age of 6 years and above with numerous activities from walking with Masai guides learning how to survive in the wild on your own, morning and night game drives await as well as walking safaris, village visits and much more!
We wouldn’t advise going within the months of April and May due to heavy rains, aim to go between June and October for the best game viewing experiences. December to March becomes a little more turbulent with the weather, but not too bad, just the odd downpour of refreshing rain – although, this is the perfect time of year to visit if you want to see the Flamingo migration.
From the fantastic guides to the people behind the scenes of Chem Chem everybody is truly remarkable and there really are no words to describe how incredible they all are. Nothing is too much, they really know how to look after you and make you feel at home. Their ethos, which is incredibly important for a once in a life time trip, is, they really do want to make your experience one you will never forget. So Forest Chem Chem is a real boon of an added bonus and we cannot wait to hear more about it!
