Introducing Little Sable

Introducing a brand new camp in the heart of the Khwai Private Reserve. Little Sable. Little Sable is the sister camp to the slightly larger Sable Alley Camp. Little Sable is wonderful in design and offers a simple yet very stylish, relaxed safari experience. You may be thinking, hold on a second, I swear Sable Alley’s sister camp was Jackal & Hide – well, you would be right. Jackel & Hide has been completely revamped interior wise and has upped its levels of already impeccable service with upgraded interiors, whilst equally maintaining the same experience an intimate safari entail.

This little camp, Little Sable, is the free spirited little sister of Sable Alley – it has been redesigned by the same interior designer Tracy Kelly, as a smaller version of Sable Alley with some similarity in design style evident throughout. At Little Sable, you will experience an authentic sense of being in a remote wilderness and truly in the heart of a proper safari experience. It has eight traditional styled canvas safari tents, all raised on wooden platforms, all of which have a very private viewing deck, en-suite bathrooms with flushing loos and running water, plus the excellent and most necessary addition of newly fitted outside showers – so you can gaze at the stars and take in the surrounding sounds whilst having a shower. Although Little Sable is very similar in design to Sable Alley, it literally does what it says on the tin – it is little! The very comfortable bedroom tents are smaller but this definitely makes it feel much more cosy. The camp offers the exact same understated simplicity and style, a true touch of the old-world English heritage mixed with the ambience of African inspired creativity.

Part of the main idea in redesigning included an extension of the outside decking area, which in turn creates a larger dining and lounge area for guests to enjoy. The area the firepit was originally has been moved to one side, giving guests the opportunity to leisurely sit around a large, hypnotic, and warm fire, with a gin and tonic in hand, with the added pleasure of being surrounded by the wild noises around you and the kaleidoscope sky above. The pool area has also been enlarged, so as to offer guests the perfect game-viewing platform and remarkable photographic opportunities.

In the camp, guests will feel the sense of ultimate freedom – where the wide-open views offer you the opportunity to connect and immerse yourself with your surroundings on so many different levels. Guest will have the sanctuary of sitting comfortably in camp, yet feel totally connected and at once with the surrounding environment.

Twenty minutes is all it will take to drive from Sable Alley, right into the heart of the Okavango Delta. This is a truly rich Okavango Delta experience which offers guests the same level of very high service, excellent guiding and a range of other wonderful activities – all at a very satisfying cost.
