Award-winning Molori Safari, in Madikwe Game Reserve in South Africa, is proud to announce the opening of its sister safari property, Molori Mashuma, a luxurious tented camp on a private concession at Mashuma Pan in Mana Pools, Zimbabwe.
Molori Mashuma offers six magnificently appointed, superbly comfortable tents, each with a private deck positioned to take in spectacular views of Mashuma Pan, where game in prolific numbers comes to drink. Guests can expect oversized, air-conditioned safari tents in an environment of sensory colours and furnishings throughout, along with an immersive experience that includes fine wine, sublime food and intuitive personalised service. Both lodges are owned by Rora Private Collection.
Mana Pools is located in northern Zimbabwe on the southern banks of the Zambezi River, within the 676 600- hectare Mana Pools National Park. It is world renowned for its exhilarating game viewing, photographic opportunities and walking safaris, with a combination of water-based and bush experiences.
‘Mana Pools happens to be one of the few UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Southern Africa, and once you’ve visited it, you can clearly understand why – its unique biodiversity and wildlife experience are unlike anything I’ve ever experienced in all the years I’ve spent in the bush,’ says Eric. ‘It took us just one visit to understand how truly unique the place is, and how it was calling out for a luxury experience that would enable Molori guests to immerse themselves in a wilderness and wildlife adventure unlike anything else.’
There are four Premier Tents (just under 100 m2) and two Family Tents (just under 392 m2).
Premier Tents have a spacious bedroom and en-suite bathroom with character ball-and-claw baths with a view, and indoor and outdoor shower options, a living area and a private deck.
Family Tents have two identical bedrooms, a central living area, and a deck leading to a private plunge pool.
All are equipped with air-conditioning, an overhead fan, super-king-size beds (twin beds available), mosquito nets, a complimentary minibar, and tea and coffee stations.
Mana Pools enables Molori Mashuma guests the option to experience three completely different wildlife destinations and safari experiences – at the pools, along the river, and in the wilderness woodlands and plains. A private game vehicle may be booked.
Mana Pools is home to the Big Five, and is a permanent water source for large concentrations of wildlife, especially during the seasonal migration between Botswana and Zimbabwe towards the end of the dry season, traditionally between September and the first rains in November or December.
The biggest concentration of hippos and Nile crocodiles are found here, and during the dry season large populations of elephant, buffalo, zebra and giraffe roam. Lion, cheetah, wild dog, leopard and brown hyena are most often seen hunting around the waterholes and pans scattered throughout this vast wilderness.More than 450 resident and migratory bird species have been identified, including a large variety of aquatic birds
