Greystoke Mahale has long been revered for it’s unique style, comfort and location. One of the most remote destinations in Africa, Greystoke Mahale is only reachable through tailor made travel, and is a luxury retreat for those more adventurous souls. Interiors are fashioned from old dhow timber and the bandas are set along the forest line, overlooking the lake. Each banda has its own chill out deck, the forest is home to nine different species of primate, making for unique and excellent wildlife viewing, all from the prime position of the afore mentioned chill out deck.

The two storey mess area stands proud on the beach, with perfect vantage points on which to sit and enjoy the view. Head off into the jungle in pursuit of Greystoke Mahale’s habituated chimpanzee group, as well as seeing a number of bird species, butterflies, leopard, bushbuck and over 250 species of cyclid in the lake – snorkeling here is excellent.
