Madikwe & The Kalahari

Madikwe Game Reserve is a hidden jewel which borders the Kalahari – it was opened in 1991 on old farmland and borders Botswana. It is the fifth largest game reserve in South Africa and positively teeming with wildlife.
A number of rare species occur in Madikwe, as it covers a natural transition zone between the Kalahari and bushveld. Madikwe boasts lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, white and black rhino as well as many different species of antelope. There are over 350 species of bird making this a birders paradise.
