The Waterberg is non malarial and boasts some fantastic private game reserves with all kinds of adventures on offer. It was the first region of Northern South Africa to be declared a UNESCO site, and it’s extensive rock formations were shaped by hundreds of years of riverine erosion. The Waterberg boasts archeological finds dating back to the Stone Age, with early evolutionary finds relating to the origins of humans.

The Waterberg is also teeming with wildlife with excellent opportunities to see white rhino. Bushmen rock art is also prolific in this area. The fever tree is prolific in this area, and it was thought by bushmen to have special powers to allow communication with the dead.
