This brand new luxury hotel, opening March 1st occupies a commanding position on the V&A waterfront. Situated within the six floors above the future Museum of Contemporary Art Africa MOCAA) this building is set to become as iconic to the Cape Town skyline as the Eiffel Tower is to Paris. The Silo comes with fascinating history, once the tallest building in Sub-Saharan Africa, this former grain silo played an integral role in terms of international trade as well as vital infrastructure supporting South Africa’s growing regional farming economies. The silo was closed in 2001 after nearly 80 years of playing a pivotal role in South Africa’s industrial and agricultural history.
