Nestled on 100ha in a secluded valley near Hazyview in Mpumalanga province 10km from the world famous Kruger National Park, Summerfields Rose Retreat comprises a lodge, spa and restaurant, set on Summerfields Rose Farm, famous for its export quality hybrid tea roses and macadamia nuts.

The River Lodge: It consists of 12 exclusive tented suites under a canopy of Jackalberry and Tambotie trees, surrounded by the sounds of cascading water, amplified by a choir of bird calls. Each luxurious suite ensures total privacy whilst relaxing on the deck with views of the Sabi River, which runs to the Mozambique coastline. Attention to detail is evident in every rose-variety suite; ensuring a memorable experience, with specially designed furniture, percale linen and the tantalizing fragrance of fresh cut roses from the farm. All units are air-conditioned with additional roof fans, have double vanities, an outdoor shower and a luxury bath, and are stocked with quality toiletries, and a private fridge for the comfort of guests.

Summerfields Villa: This ultra luxurious and brand new Villa has raised the bar in terms of luxury. Set on a plateau with breathtaking 360-degree views, the villa is for the client who seeks exclusivity and absolute privacy. Guests will have at their disposal a chef, as well as a dedicated vehicle and driver. Facilities include a private pool, gym and a personal therapist. The three rooms are made up of two king size and two single beds and naturally the villa is equipped with TVs, DVD, DSTV and WiFi

Stone House: New to Summerfields Rose Retreat is the Stone House, which is ideal for the smaller group, or family traveler with three rooms sleeping six people and children of all ages are welcome. The Stone House is an organic rendition of earthy tones and materials, and enjoys beautiful views of the surrounding wilds. One king size, one double and two single bunk beds plus the usual amenities make this a perfect option for families visiting this breath taking area near the Kruger National Park. Optional extras are a Chef and a Nanny.

The Family Farm House: This is a pleasant escape from the city. It has beautiful views over the mountains and the hippo dam and is ideal for larger families with children. Kids can really enjoy the outdoors and even play cricket on the lawns, not to mention the 20m pool and swing in the garden that will keep them busy all day. The pool is fenced, making it safe for the little ones to play outside.

Guests are welcome to help themselves to the vegetables and herbs from the Farm House’s own gardens and, although self-catering, meals can be enjoyed at Summerfields Kitchen or at the River Cafe.

With 3 bedrooms (main with dressing room), guest cloakroom, dining room seating 10 people, a family room, formal lounge, fully equipped kitchen and outside patio there is enough room to really enjoy a true farmhouse experience.
