Sosian is an old colonial cattle farm, with a beautiful old house built in the 1940s by Italian artists overlooking the rolling hills of Sosian Ranch – the main house is now used as a dining room, bar, sitting room, games room and library, with a huge veranda perfect for whiling away the hours wildlife viewing from your seat. Seven cottages lie on each side of the main house, and are private and secluded, with easy access through the garden to the swimming pool and tennis court. The house and rooms are beautifully decorated, and have a feel of a home from home, with cosy hosts and charming staff.

Sosian offers walking safaris, horse riding around the ranch, day and night game drives, camel safaris, and the chance to involve oneself in the daily life of the ranch. Equally one might choose to relax by the large swimming pool, play croquet or just admire the stunning scenery of Laikipia and the snow capped peaks of Mount Kenya on the horizon. One particular highlight for many guests is the glorious walk up to the waterfalls on the Ewaso Narok River. With some Dutch courage and a little encouragement, one can jump from the 30 foot falls into the deep pool below.
